A special early VW split-window bus with a complete rebuild and a clean, classic finish.

This 1961 Volkswagen 11 Window Bus has been with the current owner for the past 10 years and has been rebuilt with care. Finished in a green and white colour scheme similar to the original green, it presents beautifully with over-rider bumpers, colour-coded steel wheels, whitewalls, and a clean beige interior.

It runs a 1600 twin-port air-cooled engine, giving it more usable driving ability while keeping the classic VW character intact. The bus is licensed, registered, and roadworthy for 2026.

The body was completely rebuilt, with the seller stating no body putty was used. The underside, interior, engine bay, and exterior all present very well from the photos.

A roof rack and ladder are currently on order from Volkspares, which will complete the look nicely.

Early split-window VW buses have a strong following worldwide, and clean 1961 examples remain sought after, especially when they present this well. Classic.com shows 1961 11-window Kombi examples and higher-value Samba variants in active collector-market territory
